Sustainability

Our organic path leads us to question what a more sustainable solution could look like in all our projects. It is an ongoing process that develops naturally. So what specifically are we doing in terms of sustainability so far?

• The Engel is connected to the Grän district heating plant, which uses biomass for heating and can therefore completely dispense with fossil fuels, which has reduced our annual C02 emissions by around 500 tons.
• Heat recovery (approx. 135,000 kWh per year) from the laundry and cold rooms can be used to heat the pools
• The new 100 kW photovoltaic system on the roof of the Team-Haus am Anger not only supplies green electricity for the Team-Engel, but is also connected directly to the Engel via the umbilical cord, so to speak.
• Water efficiency is of course on our list. So it goes without saying that we take water-saving measures, such as installing appropriate fittings.
• The idea of re-use is already firmly anchored in our minds and so various pieces of furniture, fabrics and the like remain in the Engel cycle for as long as possible and have their service life extended by product upgrades.We believe that quality and regionality pay off. Not only in terms of the food used in our kitchen, but also in the selection of partners and materials for the furnishings in our hotel. High-quality production is a prerequisite for us to be able to take the re-use concept further. For us, however, regionality means that we not only rely on the AMA seal of quality for food, for example, but also define our network of suppliers even more closely. The short geographical distance also takes us to the neighboring Allgäu region. In addition, our own hunting enables us to source sustainable game meat directly from Grän, have it processed by a local farmer and then serve it fresh on the plates at the Engel.
• In everyday hotel life, we are constantly trying to find alternatives to disposable products, such as bath slippers or amenities in the rooms.
• The green option offers our guests a modern way to actively contribute to environmental protection. As standard, the rooms in our hotel are cleaned daily and the beds are regularly made up. With the Green Option, we give our guests the choice of either doing without daily room cleaning or reducing it. This saves water and cleaning agents and enables us to further reduce our ecological footprint. 
• When renovating the Suites am Krautgarten, we took over an existing building instead of building on an untouched green space. We completely renovated this old building, paying particular attention to sustainable methods. The building was brought up to the latest technical and thermal standards. This includes the connection to the district heating plant in Grän, which enables us to completely dispense with fossil fuels. We have also modernized the electrical system, improved the thermal insulation and replaced windows to increase the building's energy efficiency. The installation of underfloor heating ensures efficient temperature regulation, keeping the building warm in winter and cool in summer. By working with regional partners, we are strengthening the local economy and helping to reduce CO2 emissions.
• Further efforts are definitely still necessary and in the interests of further development. More to come, sooner than later!

Health

Our health is our greatest asset and we are very aware of this. That's why we pay great attention to mental health when putting together our active program. With activities such as meditation, yoga and Qi-Gong, we focus on stress-reducing measures that can also be continued in everyday life at home. We also contribute to physical health with a selective range of medical treatments. All treatments are tailored to the individual needs of our guests and cover the areas of physiotherapy, lymphatic drainage and medical massages.

Environment

We are committed to the environment and nature conservation. As the owner of a 1,050-hectare hunting ground, it is not only our task to regulate the wildlife population and keep it healthy, but also to create appropriate habitats for wild animals. This also includes the reforestation of forest stands. With our activities, we also want to bring our guests closer to the coexistence of humans and animals.

Social issues

The selection of regional partners is a matter of course for us in every respect and we therefore make an important contribution to regional value creation. We support local and social associations with sponsorship money and, thanks to Gerold's work, we are also at the forefront when it comes to the further development of our homeland (Deputy Chairman of the Tannheimer Tal Tourism Association and master hunter in the Tannheimer Tal hunting district) and our industry (Tyrol Chamber of Commerce Committee, Tyrol Gastronomy Section). Above all, however, the well-being of our team angel is close to our hearts. This is precisely why our new Team-Haus am Anger with 51 residential units was built directly in Grän in 2024, where we are significantly improving the quality of life and living for our employees with an energy-efficient, state-of-the-art timber construction. We are proud that we have been able to develop flexible working and hourly models for our team that can be adapted to their individual needs. There are still many goals in this area, which we will continue to work on with motivation in the coming years.
