Taking a sauna properly and at a distance in a wellness hotel strengthens the immune system and relaxes all round
Get active now and strengthen your immune defences. An effective way to do this is to take a sauna. The Best Alpine Wellness Hotels offer the right environment and countless opportunities to do this at a distance, safely and without risk.

Size and variety
The spa facilities of the Best Alpine Wellness Hotels extend over thousands of square metres. The spaciousness guarantees plenty of room for everyone and therefore also safety in times of pandemic. While it is not easy to ‘get hold of’ sauna sessions in many hotels right now due to the small saunas, this is easily possible at the Best Alpine Wellness Hotels - up to 12 saunas are exclusively available to hotel guests in the hotels, both indoors and outdoors.
The variety of saunas meets the most diverse wishes of guests: from organic saunas with moderate temperatures to classic Finnish saunas, from infrared cabins and infrared loungers to salt caves and private steam baths, the choice in the hotels is huge.
Many saunas are reserved for adults in order to fulfil guests' wishes for peace and relaxation. In return, there are separate family saunas and, in some resorts, textile saunas or women-only saunas.
A proper sauna also involves cooling down and resting afterwards: whether you prefer to do this in the outdoor pool, in the natural pond, with a rubdown of ice, under the splash shower or on a cooling walk is a matter of taste. It is also a matter of taste whether you prefer to relax in the relaxation area or combine it with a good chat. Both are possible in the Best Alpine Wellness Hotels thanks to the wide variety of relaxation rooms.
Support and expertise
A proper sauna experience usually culminates in a skilful infusion. Even if this is not possible at the moment, you are safe if you follow the sauna rules communicated on site. Our sauna experts on site are always available to answer any questions you may have.
Tips for beginners on how to take a sauna properly
- Only go to the sauna when you are healthy
- Take enough towels with you - at least one to sit or lie on so that the wood is not touched
- Shower before your sauna session
- Only go into the sauna naked; if you don't like it, you can wrap a towel around yourself
- Take off your glasses and jewellery if possible
- Drink enough before and after - preferably water, tea or fruit juices.
- The sauna is normally a quiet place, please postpone conversations until afterwards
- The higher up you sit, the hotter the air. Therefore, if you are not sure, sit lower down first
- A sauna session lasts 5 - 15 minutes, then rest at least that long before the next sauna session
- If it gets too strenuous, leave the sauna earlier
- Only shower with water after the sauna, do not use soap
- Drink plenty and enjoy the peace and relaxation in the best wellness hotels
