The Alpbacherhof
What if... ? This question inspires us to think about our work, to be creative and to get into action, but also to appreciate what is already there and what has often been good for generations: ourselves, our guests, our employees and our nature. With this in mind, the Alpbacherhof pursues a sustainable approach that combines responsibility and relaxation.
In the heart of Tyrol lies a place where relaxation and environmental awareness go hand in hand: The Mountain & Spa Resort Alpbacherhof. Here, hospitality is combined with responsible behaviour to give guests not only a break, but also a clear conscience.

The 7,000m2 panoramic meadow - a nature experience for all the senses
Far more than just a beautiful view: the Alpbacherhof's panoramic meadow offers a pristine nature experience with resting places, swinging loungers, a barefoot path and a Kneipp basin with crystal-clear water and four raised beds. On an area of 7,000m2 - about the size of a football pitch - biodiversity is brought to life here. The commitment to organic farming is particularly noteworthy:
‘ We completely dispense with artificial fertilisers. In this way, we promote biodiversity and give the bees a natural home. And this is just one of many examples of how we combine our wellness programme with sustainability. ‘ says Claudia Als (junior manager at the Alpbacherhof)

The unfertilised meadow is only mowed twice a year to allow for the flowering time of the plants and to promote their natural seeding. The hay obtained is used in soothing hay baths and in one of the hotel's specialities: homemade hay gin. Fruit trees such as apples and quinces provide fresh ingredients for the hotel kitchen, while aromatic herbs from the raised beds are processed into homemade herbal salt.

The Margreiter family took over the Alpbacherhof in 2008 and preserved the naturalness of the meadow before it was carefully remodelled in 2021. Today, it is not only an integral part of the hotel, but also guarantees guests an unobstructed view of the impressive mountain landscape. The barefoot path, with various natural materials such as stones, pine cones and wood shavings, enables an intensive connection to nature. Hammocks, wooden loungers and benches invite you to linger - perfect for enjoying the meditative effect of nature or planning your next mountain tour in peace.

Regionality and environmentally friendly enjoyment
The Alpbacherhof focuses on high-quality, regional ingredients - not only for the culinary offerings, but also in the overall hotel design. The rooms are furnished with local woods and natural materials, creating an authentic feel-good ambience. The kitchen prefers to spoil guests with seasonal specialities from the surrounding area, sourced from regional farmers and producers.

Gentle mobility for a conscious stay
A sustainable travel experience begins on arrival. Guests travelling by public transport benefit from a free shuttle service from the train station. Once there, they can explore the beautiful Tyrolean mountain landscape without a car - either with the free Regiobus or with one of the e-bikes provided. There are also two charging stations available for electric vehicles

Wellness with responsibility
The Alpbacherhof combines relaxation with respect for the environment. Only natural cosmetic products are used in the wellness area, including Tyrolean stone oil and the high-quality Alpienne and BALANCE ALPINE 1000+ lines. Nature also takes centre stage in the wellness treatments - inspired by the four elements of fire, water, earth and air. Even the water in the hotel comes from a high-quality, natural spring, guaranteeing an unrivalled spa experience.
By the way - Alpbach was awarded the title of Austria's 1st Crystal Community by the Seibersdorf Research Centre due to its outstanding water quality.

A stay with a vision
The Alpbacherhof shows that conscious tourism is by no means a sacrifice, but rather an enrichment for guests and nature alike. Through the use of sustainable materials, regional partnerships and careful use of resources, a harmonious coexistence of relaxation and the environment is created here - for a future in which well-being and nature are in harmony.
The hotel was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel in September 2021. The Margreiter family's philosophy: ‘We carry the eco-label because we value and respect our home, our nature and our living space and we want to preserve and protect this precious asset for our children’
